Quilt-a-long completed!

I started working on the quilt-a-long from American Girl Collectors over two years ago. I am pleased to share that I finally finished the quilts!

I made two of each block so that I would have two quilts at the end.

For most of the blocks, I reversed the colors on the patterns, or at least switched them around.

It was fun to see how different the blocks looked, even with the same fabric, by changing the colors to different positions.

As you can see, I also reversed the colors on the borders.

I also used different block layouts for each quilt, just to shake things up some more.

I also learned a lot about precision in making these quilt blocks. This is always important in quilting, but more so when you are using such tiny pieces!

This was a great project and I am so happy to finally have finished the quilts. I was so afraid I would lose the pieces!

Surprises in the mail!

Anne and I got a postcard in the mail from the gang at Isn't She Dovely, specifically from Callie and Penny and their brothers. (Who have not made their blog debut yet.)

Thank you for the fun surprise!

A Girl For All Time Your Modern Boy

Breaking news!

A Girl for All Time just announced that they are producing a Your Modern Boy doll.
His name is Max.

I saw it on a video on Facebook here.

It's very hard to see, but it looks like he has brown skin and maybe Clementine's face mold.
It was suggested to me that maybe he has Bex's mold, which is also a possibility.

He looks cute!

It is interesting that so many companies are making boy dolls now.

Girl Scout uniform pattern!

I just saw this new pattern for a 1914 Girl Scout uniform!

It is so fabulous and I love it!

It is available at Pixie Faire from Forget Me Not Designs, which is not a designer I had heard of before.

I will be paying close attention to them in the future, believe me!

They also have some wonderful space outfit patterns for Luciana.

This is specially cool to me, because I once got to model a uniform from this time period for a Girl Scout fashion show.

I love the Girl Scouts, I love period clothes, I love doll clothes... this hits ALL my buttons.

Bex and Elinor

Here's a peek at Bex and Elinor at Toy Fair!

Image may contain: one or more people and people standing

I found this picture at the FB page for A Girl for All Time!

I can't wait for them to start shipping!

It looks like Elinor's dress changed from the prototype. It's still very pretty.
I am glad her face mold didn't change, I love it.

Mini Quilt-A-Long

I finally made blocks nineteen and twenty for the mini quilt quilt-a-long that I started two and a half years ago.

Yay for finishing up on UFOs! (that's unfinished objects for you non-quilters.

The blocks are Sawtooth Star and Dutchman's Puzzle.

The blue and green fabrics turned out to be darker than I expected compared to the other fabrics I used in this project, but oh well.
Variety is the spice of life.

I have now finished the quilt tops and hope to have pictures of the finished quilts to post soon!

Party with Inky!

Anne, Melody and I got to meet with the world-famous Inky of Super Inky!

Inky brought her friend Likolani. They are both super pretty, and very friendly!

Anne and Inky had a long conversation. I am not sure what their topic was!

We had a great time!

AG at Toys R Us pictures

I went to a Toys R Us recently that I had never been to before, and I took lots of pictures. I think it is fun to see the displays.

They had a lot of Gabriela's collection, but none of Luciana's.

I think the little camping Pomeranian was my favorite!

Addy's Christmas

Addy got Ida Bean for Christmas! She immediately changed into this dress so that they would match.

They look so cute together!

Hurray for wonderful Christmas gifts!

Christmas Dress for Nanea

I decided that Nanea needed a Christmas dress. I am surprised that AG hasn't made one for her. I wanted to make a green one to go with ...
