Kermit Hoodie

I made a Kermit Hoodie using the Requiem Art Designs pattern.

I feel like I could have done  better job with his eyes and his collar, but that is probably because I am a picky Muppet super fan.

Also, I am not an artist at all.

My model is Hearts for Hearts doll Consuelo.

Secret Snarker 2019 Part 3

I got a lovely Snarker present from supergreenchiligirl! She is better known as Inky's mom.

This was such a thoughtful gift, and it put a huge smile on my face.

I got a lovely card, candy, guinea pig stickers, S'more PJs, a mini Baby Kermit figure, and an assortment of doll food!

It was all perfect, and a great surprise.

I wanted the PJs whether or not they fit Anne (who is PC and therefore chubbier) but they did fit her!
I am so happy!

I was also excited about the Baby Kermit figure.

I was a huge Muppet Baby fan back in the day, and I have a Baby Fozzie figure, an old McDonald's toy, who can hang out with Baby Kermit.

I guess I need to take better pictures of the doll food, I haven't done that yet.

I was very happy with my Snarker gifts!

Palisades Muppet Packaging

It's been a while since I posted about Palisades Muppets action figures. I thought I would share with you some of the new in box Muppets that I have. 

I didn't open these immediately, and saved the box opening for a rainy day when I need an emotional boost.

It's a Very Silly Muppet Christmas

I always put together a Muppet Christmas display. It starts out with the Palisades Christmas Carol Muppet figures, anyway, and then the Star Wars Muppet figures from Walt Disney World join in, and it gets steadily more ridiculous as I think of more things to add.

This year features two Uncle Deadlys (one of whom is holding a tiny guinea pig), action figures in three different scales, a tiny Santa hat on Sweetum's head, Koozebanian aliens, a ghost, and there will probably be more added.

Pigs in Space

I mentioned that taking all these pictures of my Muppet action figures made by Palisades was making me want more of them. Well, ahem. A few things have been happening to me, so I decided to look at ebay and see what was going on in the second hand world of Muppets. I found a Pigs in Space playset going for a steal, and it is mine, all mine.

My friend Isha is annoyed at me because I didn't buy her set, but I did not realize she was selling one, and this was not a premeditated purchase.  Sorry, Isha!

This set was so cheap partly because it was not in the original box, although it had a lot of the inside packaging. This was fine by me. I don't want to pay for a box I am going to take it out of immediately.

Here it is, still attached to much of the packaging that it came with.

And look! Miss Piggy! That is one reason I decided to finally get this set- this was my favorite Miss Piggy figure made by Palisades, and therefore I did not have a Miss Piggy. (Besides, she is not my favorite character- gasp!)

Electric Mayhem

I have always been a huge fan of the band the Electric Mayhem. I once told a boy in high school that it was my favorite band. He replied that he liked it too, but his mother had forbidden him to listen to it. Clearly he did not know it is a Muppet band. Hee hee.

Here we have two of the Palisades Muppet action figures, Janice and Scooter. Janice is the lead guitar player of the Electric Mayhem, and Scooter is the manager. Both characters were originally played by the wonderful Richard Hunt.

They look a bit funny next to each other, as they have totally different body types.

Janice is of course one of the very few female Muppets. She has always been one of my favorites.

Janice is a very cool, laid back hippy. "Look, Mother. It's my life, okay? So if I want to live on a beach and walk around naked..." 

Janice is so tall and skinny that she does not stand up well on her own. She came with a stand of course, and a guitar. I did not feel like digging through all of the accessories for her guitar.

She doesn't have a lot of articulation out of necessity, due to her extreme skinniness. She can move her arms, so she does not have any problem playing her guitar. 

Her hat is really cool, because it is held on with a magnet. It stays on perfectly and does not leave any mark behind if you take it off.

Scooter is a much more active guy, the "Gofer" who goes for coffee, and whose boundless enthusiasm echoes that of his performer, Richard Hunt.

His action figure reflects that and is ready for any kind of action.

He's actually kind of hard to photograph because of the angle of his eyes. I took these pictures at an angle.

Scooter and Janice look great from behind, too.

As always, I just love the detail on these figures. Yay for the Muppet Show logo!

I am making myself wish I had more of these guys!

More Muppet Mania

Here we are with more Muppet Mania, brought to you by Palisades!

The ghost came as an accessory with Uncle Deadly. He or she looks just like the Alice Cooper episode of the Muppet Show. The ghost has a clear plastic stand so it can "float."

I LOVE Pops. He is such a funny and sweet character. He is the best. You rarely see him from the waist down, but Palisades put him in slippers, based on shots of Pops in a parachute at the end of The Great Muppet Caper.

Can't you imagine him secretly wearing slippers behind the desk of the Muppet Theater?

I also love singing vegetables. Owning these cute little guys fills a void in my life. A VOID, I tell you.

The Newsman is a pompous weirdo, but a very funny one. I particularly love him in the Jonathon Winter episode, when he does NOT begin speaking Swedish. 

He is also great in A Muppet Family Christmas (the best movie ever). "Barometers are falling sharply everywhere!"

Palisades put him in some pretty snazzy shoes. I am not sure if their authority for his shoes was also The Great Muppet Caper, but it shows that he has better taste than you would expect from that jacket.

The realism of these figures is just so great. I am so happy they exist. In this world.

Galley-oh-hoop-hoop!

On the Muppet Show, Kermit occasionally visited the Planet Koozebane and interviewed the aliens who lived there.

In one interesting interview, Kermit was able to film the mating ritual of the male and female Koozebanes, the Galley-oh-hoop-hoop.

Palisades made a Reporter Kermit figure that came with Koozebane figures. I did not buy this figure, but someone who only wanted the Kermit mailed me the Kooozebanes, and, I think, Rowlf's piano.

Here is the whole happy family.

The Galley-oh-hoop-hoop always makes me laugh, and I am so happy to have these figures. 

The baby is especially adorable.

The male and female Koozebanes can move their arms: the baby is all one piece.

When last we left the Swine Trek...

The Muppet Show had one recurring skit, the Swine Trek, in which Captain Link Hogthrob, Miss Piggy, and Dr. Julius Strangepork met unusual obstacles in outer space.

To quite the Muppet Wiki, Link Hogthrob is a blonde, cleft-chinned pig with a high opinion of himself.

Dr. Julius Strangepork is an elderly pig who serves as the scientist on board the Swine Trek,

And Miss Piggy- well, Miss Piggy is Miss Piggy.

Of course, the Swine Trek is a parody of Star Trek. Now that I have seen Star Trek, I appreciate Link Hogthrob all the more. Captain Kirk annoys me. Link is a complete dunce, but still preferable.

Palisades made a playset of the Swine Trek that came with Miss Piggy. To my deep regret, I could not afford it when it came out and the one playset I have, the backstage theater, takes up quite enough room, thank you very much.

However, today Link and Strangepork found themselves aboard quite a different spaceship.

This one is called the TARDIS- Time and Relative Dimension in Space.

They don't know quite what to make of it.

There are some weird shipmates.

Dr. Strangepork does not really want to admit that he does not understand the science- but the again, he never does.

Is that a Dalek or is it M. A. M. M. A., the musical robot?

Our heroes have not been made into bacon- it must be safe after all.

Although Link still prefers to have as many people between him and the machine as possible. Just to be safe.

Introducing Palisades Muppets

I meant this blog to be all dolls, but I can't help but brag about the wonderful and lovely Muppet action figures made by Palisades. They are extraordinary.

Any Muppet fan worth his salt can tell you that there are many ugly Muppet toys out there. If you don't believe me, have a look at the annual Tough Pigs Ugly Toy Parade. Go ahead, I will wait.

Convinced?

Palisades really went the extra mile to get good likenesses.

I am going to start with Kermit. Everyone knows Kermit, and he was one of the first figures Palisades made.

Kermit is fairly simple, but really good. He features texturing, so that the action figure resembles the foam of the puppet. His eyes actually coordinate and look at you. He has a neutral-yet-subtly-smiling facial expression. He stands on his own.

He can move his arms and turn his head. Those skinny limbs did not allow Palisades to add joints.

Next, by association of ideas, we have the Jim Henson figure. This is the Muppet, not the human, from the Country Band trio. He was a special release, and he came with a banjo and a director's seat.

He has marvelous details, including a leather fringe that is very convincing. He has a lot more joints than Kermit, and is very easy to pose. The biggest problem I have with this figure is getting the banjo to stay in its strap.

Another figure with amazing details is Uncle Deadly, the phantom of the Muppet theater. And how amazing is is that there even is an Uncle Deadly figure? He is not one of the Muppets who first comes to mind, even after his starring role in The Muppets.

*maniacal laugh*

Like Kermit, most of his posing is in his head and arms. He does have elbow joints. And he stands like a rock!

Last, but not least, the Great Gonzo. He is so spot on. His eyes and nose are just perfect. I remember Palisades saying how difficult it was to get the color of his nose correct.  He is a very poseable little guy, too. 

And this is just the beginning- I have many more Muppet Palisade figures to share with you! 

*maniacal laugh*

The Muppet Theater Backstage

One of my most prized possessions is my Muppet Theater Backstage. This playset was made in amazing detail by Palisades. I was a huge fan of their Muppet action figure line and took an active part in the fandom.

Sadly, this line was discontinued. I have heard that with new and stricter guidelines for toy production currently in place, it would no longer be possible to produce these today.

But enough talk!

Here it is in all its glory:

It is gorgeous, and I need to take more photos of the theater and my figures to do them justice.

However, I recently used it as a backdrop to take pictures of my Ai dolls. It is just the right size!

Ai dolls are 5.5 inch high BJDs made by Jun Planning. They are made of ABS plastic and are very poseable.
