Merry Christmas!

Melody and Bo would like to wish you a merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Anne got mini Luciana for Christmas!

I definitely think that mini Luciana is one of the cutest mini dolls. Anne is completely smitten.

Merry Christmas!

Twas the Night Before Christmas

It's the night before Christmas, and Kit is snuggled in bed with a good book.

I think that's a great way to spend Christmas Eve!

In Iceland, there is a tradition of giving books as gifts on Christmas Eve. I love it!
It might make it hard to go to bed, though.

You can read more about that here.

I love these pajamas for Kit and am glad that I bought them shortly before they retired.

Since Kit's bedroom is in an attic, I bet that it is cold in the winter.

Mara knows that Santa won't come until she is asleep!

I think that visions of sugar plums dance in her head.

I hope everyone is relaxing and enjoying today!

Ready for the Holidays

Are you ready for the holidays?

Melody and Bo are!

Melody should get under the covers, her bare legs look chilly!

Christmas for Felicity

I am not gonna lie, Felicity is the queen of my doll collection.

Anne is the princess, in a matter of speaking, (she would not want to be called a princess), but Felicity is the queen.

These Christmas pictures of Felicity make me so happy.

I know the background is really too modern for Felicity, but it's much better than a blank wall!

I got the Noah's Ark for Felicity just as American Girl was discontinuing it, and this never fails to make me happy. I am so glad that I have this for my girl, and all the tiny pieces.

And she would certainly rather be playing in front of the fire than outside in the snow!

Felicity wishes everyone a merry Christmas!

Katie and Pooh Bear

Katie and Pooh Bear are ready for the holidays!

How about you?

I'm just really glad that I still enjoy Katie after all these years together.

Katie has been old enough to vote for over a decade now. LOL.

Dashing Through the Snow

Dashing Through the Snow...
In a one dog open sleigh...

Wait, that's not right.

My friend got me this sleigh to take guinea pig pictures.

I have no idea where it came from.

But I was taking doll Christmas pictures when I spotted this sleigh, and thought, wait a minute.

Ta da! Meatloaf the bulldog gets a Christmas picture too!

Happy St. Lucia Day!

This year, St. Lucia's Day is on Friday the 13th!

I thought that was kind of funny.

I thought of doing a mashup picture, but Kirsten says don't you dare, this is the first time she's gotten to dress up for St. Lucia since the 1990s.

Happy St. Lucia's Day!

Katie and Rudolph

Katie and Rudolph are ready for Christmas!

This is my childhood baby doll, Katie, with my childhood stuffed animal Rudolph the reindeer, lying together on the baby blanket my grandmother made me.

It gives me all the feels.

Who says you have to grow up?

Katie's Santa uniform is new. I bought it brand new at Goodwill, with the tags still attached, for $2.
Score!

This is a newborn size. Katie can wear the 0-3 months size, but it seems that usually newborn size is a slightly better fit on her.

Holiday preparation

My Madame Alexander dolls are ready for the holidays.

How about you?

I have worked far in advance this year to get some great Christmas pictures!

Renee Graef on Etsy

I have just discovered that Renee Graef, who illustrated the American Girl Kirsten books, has her own etsy shop selling prints.

You can find her etsy shop here.

She has a wide variety of prints to choose from, and she will autograph them for you.

This is a great way to get an autograph of one of the American Girl artists, as well as directly supporting that artist.

I was particularly excited about the Laura Ingalls Wilder illustrations- there are prints of these available in her shop.

These prints would make great gifts!

Fall fun!

After all the snow, we finally had one day at 43 degrees, and I was able to start raking the fall leaves.

There are more leaves on the ground, and more on the trees, and it is supposed to snow some more.

Sigh.

BUT while I was raking the leaves, Danielle was able to jump in some leaf piles!

It's a sad fact of growing up that I really don't feel like jumping in the leaves.

Good thing that I have Danielle to do it for me!

Hearts for Hearts doll Nyesha

I got Hearts for Hearts doll Nyesha!

As far as I can tell, she has the same meet outfit from her original release, only minus the tie.

I am totally fine with that. I did not dig the tie.

The rest of her outfit is so colorful and pretty!

Her hair was bunched up when she arrived, but I was able to separate it into ringlets and finger cur it.

It's so pretty as it is now, but it will need care to maintain it.

She is the last Hearts for Hearts doll that I really want for now, at least until they release any new dolls. The $41 price tag is a bit hefty for these dolls.

I am very happy to have Nyesha, and I recommend her to other collectors.

The hair might make her less of a practical toy for kids to play with.

Clothes for Katie

My oldest and most beloved baby doll is Katie. She is a Berjusa doll that was made in Spain, and she is very realistic.

I was looking at Halloween clearance a few days ago, and I saw this onsie on clearance.

I then remembered that Katie fits real life baby clothes.

I had to guess at the size, but when you have been carrying a doll around for thirty years, you know how big she is in your arms. I was holding the different sizes up against me.
The 0 to 3 month size fit her well.

I used to get a 25 cent allowance as a little girl. I would then go to garage sales with my mom and buy used baby clothes for a quarter each.

It's literally been two decades since Katie has gotten any new clothes.

It makes me so happy to see Katie in this cute onsie, even if Halloween is over.

It gets cold in the winter where I live, so it will keep her warm.

The pumpkin face even glows in the dark.

The best part? It was a $5 onsie at 90% off. It rang up at 25 cents.

Snow, snow, snow

Here are some more pictures of the dolls enjoying the snow!

Nanea is really surprised by the snow, but glad that she has this snowsuit to keep her warm.

Melody lives in Detroit, so she is used to the possibility of having snow in late October.
Bo thinks it's a lot of fun!

Felicity is beautiful as always.

Poor Kit is in the snow up to her knees! Yikes!

Happy Halloween!

We are having an unusual Halloween today. We got a lot of snow!

Naturally, the dolls had to check it out.

Anne looks a little disappointed that it snowed.

Or maybe she is just distracted by that snowflake landing on her nose!

Saige didn't have a coat, but she put on a jacket and headed outside.

This is Danielle, and she has only been here for two days! I will be posting more about her later!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

American Girl doll pictures

I just wanted to share some more doll pictures.

I really love this picture of Samantha. I think it's easy to forget that Samantha also loved to climb trees!
This is her play dress, which I love. It annoys me when people put her dress collar outside of the apron, though.

There is no reason that Felicity should only play her mandolin when wearing her birthday dress.
She can play music in the fall too, so here she is!

Addy playing with Ida Bean.

Here is Anne!
When this outfit was released, I loved the shirt, but hated the jacket.
I bought the outfit in spite of the jacket, not because of it.
I am still not crazy about it, but decided to put it on Anne just for something different.

Jun Planning Ai doll Hyacinth

I have always been uncomfortable with having Jun Planning Ai doll Hyacinth lying on her back.

To me, it looks uncomfortable and posed.

I finally posed her the way I sleep- on her side, clutching her teddy bear.

Yes, she looks much more comfortable and happier now!

I have put her on display like this.

She almost looks like a fairy tale character.

I took these pictures in August, then got sick and didn't post them.
