Elephant Hoodie

This hoodie is made, again, from the Requiem Art Designs 14 inch hoodie pattern.

It is supposed to be an elephant. The pattern did not include a pattern for elephant ears, so I drew one myself.

Nahji from Hearts for Hearts dolls is modelling the hoodie.

It kind of looks like an elephant, and it also kind of looks like a mouse.

If I meant to make a mouse hoodie, I would have put the ears higher up on the head.

It's still really cute!

And it is getting cold where I live, so it makes me feel better that the dolls have something warm to wear.

I also like that they have something to wear besides their meet outfits.

They look much happier now.

Miscellaneous Melody

I am working on getting Melody's hair in the perfect flip. She came with flip on one side, and the other side was flatter.

I am using the curlers from the Our Generation retro set that I got from Secret Snarker.

I have heard that using a clean, dry toothbrush on her hair can also help you achieve the perfect flip.

The curlers are very helpful, but I could not get them to stay on on their own. I used bobby pins to help them stay in place.

Hopefully soon I will be taking pictures of Melody with the perfect flip!

In the mean time, here is a comparison of the elephant I made for Melody from a Wren*Feathers pattern with the elephant from Melody's Bedroom Accessories.

The elephants are about the same size.

The store bought one is much better stuffed, and I think overall probably cuter.

Melody's Elephant

I love the elephant in Melody's bedroom set, but I didn't want to buy the set just for the elephant!

Besides, my favorite stuffed animal as a kid was a pink elephant. The elephant sold by American Girl is the wrong color!

Luckily, Wren*Feathers shared a toy elephant pattern so that I could make my own!

I am very happy with it! This is the first time I have sewed a toy animal in 3D, and it went really well!
