New Accessory for Dollhouse- China Dogs

I'm kind of excited for this one!

I have loved Anne of Green Gables for a long time. This is thanks to my mom, who fell in love with the series around 1994 and got us all the books for Easter.

The first book started a little slowly for 1994-me, and Anne was a little too mischievous, but I did learn to lover her.

In Anne of the Island, when Anne is in college, Anne and her friends rent a house. Anne loves the antique china dogs that sit in front of the mantelpiece. The dogs are named Gog and Magog and are green and white.

The dogs are later gifted to her as a wedding gift.

I just realized that Anne's dogs were probably Staffordshire china dogs. I started digging around to see if I could find a mini version, and I found blue and white Staffordshire dog salt and pepper shakers.

I am glad that I spent all that time customizing the fireplace. It will be worthy of Gog and Magog!

Thrift Store score!

I had a lucky day at two thrift stores yesterday!

At the first thrift store, I got Honey the golden retriever for $1, and some fabric that is perfect for an upcoming project for $1.

At the second thrift store, I found a grab bag of AG clothes for $3! It included part of Kit's twin sweater set, Julie's white meet blouse, and Julie's pajama top.

I have some planned doll clothes projects that I am very excited about! I want to make a two piece Victorian Halloween dress with a striped skirt. I want to make a doll version of Emily Dickinson's iconic white dress. And I want to make several 1700s dresses from the movie Portrait of a Lady on Fire.

Writing these down helps me to remember my ideas, LOL.

Merry Christmas from Kit

Here are some Kit Christmas pictures!

This year for Christmas, Kit got her dog, Grace. This is thanks to the Black Friday sale.
The little freckles on Grace's muzzle are too cute.

Kit does have her Christmas dress on under her coat.

Summer days

Hi guys, I took some pictures of a few dolls outside yesterday.
I wanted to share these.
I am also on Instagram, my name there is igsbeth. Feel free to follow me there!

The pandemic has meant for me, among other things, less freedom to take pictures of my dolls and take pictures of them.

I am also going to have much less Internet access than usual for the month of July.

I have a couple of posts pre-scheduled, though.

It may be quiet here, but I will be back when I can!

I may be more active on Instagram for July. It's faster to post a single picture than to do a whole blog post with commentary.

Nanea and Mele! Nanea's lei was a gift from Inky's Mom!

Joss and Murph are picking raspberries.

 Addy climbed a tree!

Kit is looking for ripe raspberries. If she picks enough, she can make jam!

Merry Christmas!

Melody and Bo would like to wish you a merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Anne got mini Luciana for Christmas!

I definitely think that mini Luciana is one of the cutest mini dolls. Anne is completely smitten.

Merry Christmas!

Ready for the Holidays

Are you ready for the holidays?

Melody and Bo are!

Melody should get under the covers, her bare legs look chilly!

Dashing Through the Snow

Dashing Through the Snow...
In a one dog open sleigh...

Wait, that's not right.

My friend got me this sleigh to take guinea pig pictures.

I have no idea where it came from.

But I was taking doll Christmas pictures when I spotted this sleigh, and thought, wait a minute.

Ta da! Meatloaf the bulldog gets a Christmas picture too!

Snow, snow, snow

Here are some more pictures of the dolls enjoying the snow!

Nanea is really surprised by the snow, but glad that she has this snowsuit to keep her warm.

Melody lives in Detroit, so she is used to the possibility of having snow in late October.
Bo thinks it's a lot of fun!

Felicity is beautiful as always.

Poor Kit is in the snow up to her knees! Yikes!

Melody in the Snow

And here is Melody in the snow, playing with Bo!

Bo loves to be outside and to play with his human.

Looks like fun!

Melody's Wardrobe: Melody's Birthday Outfit

I wanted Melody's Birthday Outfit as soon as it was released. I rarely buy anything the minute I see it, however. I finally added this to my collection!

Bo was happy to join Melody outside to show off her new threads, but he was pulling at the leash too hard.

I love everything about this outfit. I love it when they make clothes that are appropriate for cold weather.

My mom is a couple years older than Melody, and she had to wear skirts to school year round, so even though her legs would be cold, this is appropriate for Melody to wear in fall and winter.

The skirt is cute, the turtleneck is cute, the tights are cute.

My only complaint is that I wish the shoes weren't white, and I wish they didn't close with elastic. Elastic always give out eventually, so I don't like to see it n doll clothes that can last a very long time. Ditto for the skirt, really. Sigh.

But this outfit is so cute. I love it!

Melody's Bedtime

Melody wants to go to bed, but Bo jumped up on it. Bad dog! You aren't allowed on the furniture!

That's better!

Reading books in bed is the best.

Sweet dreams, Melody!

Dog Meet Doll World

I am getting very brazen about getting doll pictures out and about in the real world.

A library near me was offering carriage rides drawn by dogs for children, as part of the summer reading program.

I asked if Anne and Stella could pose with the dog and its carriage!

Cute, huh?

I think they are a little sad that they didn't really get to go for a ride.

Molly Thrift Store Find

I found Pleasant Company's trunk for Molly! It was $20 and I found it in a pile of stuff in the garage (!) of my local thrift store. It...
