Thrift Store Find: Addy's Prototype Meet Dress

Yesterday, I had a doctor's appointment in a town about 30 minutes away from me.

Several hours after the appointment, I had an ASL class in the same town.

I decided to not spend time and gas driving back and forth after my doctor's appointment.

Instead, I visited several of my favorite stores in this town.

Since I had plenty of time, I decided to stop by one thrift store that I never find anything at. I thought maybe I would find some small accessories to use in the doll house.

To my utter surprise, I found Wellie Wishers Emerson for $7 in among the kid's toys. She had her dress and boots and everything.

I was even more surprised when I found Molly in the collector dolls section. Molly was very dirty and had messy hair.

She was marked at $5.

And she was wearing Addy's prototype meet dress.

I knew what it was immediately. I have seen one in person before. One of my friends has it and showed it to me.

I couldn't believe it.

I circled the store several times to make sure that I hadn't missed anything, then I went to check out.

I still can't believe it.

I don't know how I have such good luck at the thrift store. Living in Wisconsin probably helps, since we had the MCM sale for many years.

Wow.

I thought for sure I would wake up and find that this was all a dream.

Willa and Emerson

I found Willa and Emerson at the thrift store, and they came home with me.

I have been wanting Willa!

I already had Emerson, but this one had a different outfit on and was so cute with her pierced ears. I couldn't resist!

Willa is missing her boots and needs a spa treatment. She has some orange marks on her face that didn't come off with magic eraser.

The orange doesn't show much in picture!

Emerson is so cute. I stand by my dubious decision to have two Emerson dolls, haha.

Emerson at the Beach

Here are a few pictures of Wellie Wisher Emerson at the beach!

I made the dress from a Sofie Clareese pattern. It's so cute and nautical!

Emerson looking very serious at how big the water is!

Playing in the sand!
Smile for the camera!

Emerson is tired after a busy day, but she loves watching the waves!

Pattern Review: Sofie Clareese Perfectly Pleasant Sundress

Last week, I wrote about the Sofie Clareese Perfectly Pleasant Sundress.

Well, I had an unexpected three day weekend, so I bought the pattern and made five dresses from it.

The pattern is in two sizes: 18 inch and 14 inch.

I bought the 14 inch one, because I have many more 18 inch patterns.

This is a great pattern. It is easy to make and it is so versatile.

This is the first dress I made! I am tired of looking at Emerson's meet, especially the very shiny skirt.

I wanted to make a pink dress to match her boots, but I added a green bodice to tone down the pinkness.

Result: cuteness!

Next I made a purple dress.

I feel like I could have gotten a better picture. As my friend pointed out, the configuration of the skirt looks almost like pants. I can assure you that this is entirely sue to awkward picture taking, but I didn't have time to redo it.

I would like to point out that this pattern fits both Wellie Wishers and Hearts for Hearts dolls perfectly.

The doll in this picture is Hearts for Hearts doll Nahji.

The Heart for Hearts dolls look so much skinnier, it's great that the pattern can fit both dolls.

I love this pattern!

I am going to write another blog post to share the next three dresses I made. Stay tuned!

Wellie Wishers

Two Wellie Wishers came home with me from MCM!

Kendall is going to a new home.

Emerson is staying with me!

I had resisted collecting Wellie Wishers up to now, but I could not resist the price they were being offered at at MCM.

The friend who requested a Wellie Wisher have me some wiggle room in which one to get, so I chose the extremely adorable Kendall.

Emerson is staying, and she is melting my heart. I can't wait to take her hair down and play with it!

I already sew for the 14 inch doll size, so Emerson may not be in her meet outfit for long!

Molly Thrift Store Find

I found Pleasant Company's trunk for Molly! It was $20 and I found it in a pile of stuff in the garage (!) of my local thrift store. It...
