Elsa Disney Bound

I haven't forgotten the series of Disney bound princess doll clothes that I was making!

Here's Elsa!

It's kind of funny that I made the Elsa dress in summer, and others, like Ariel and Moana, in winter.

I want to take pictures of the Ariel and Moana dresses on the beach, but the weather hasn't been coperating yet.

I need to do more group pictures of teh Disney bounds, too. Maybe after Doll of Color Month is over.

Pattern Review: Dollhouse Designs Winter Princess Nightgown

I made the Winter Princess Nightgown from Dollhouse Designs.

I was very pleased with this pattern. It has two sets of pattern pieces, one for woven fabric and one for knits.

I was using flannel, so I used the patterns for woven fabric.

I thought that it makes a pretty and elegant nightgown.

I used what I had on hand, but I think you can see it as  Frozen inspired nightgown fit for a princess.

It looks warm and cozy for winter nights as well.

The pattern came together easily.

I liked this pattern and may make it again. So many nightwear patterns are for knit fabrics, and I don't sew with those a lot.

This nightgown is going to be a gift for a little girl, and I hope she likes it.

I have really admired the patterns from Dollhouse Designs for a while now. I enjoyed making this pattern, and hope to make more from this designer soon.

Pattern Review: Doll Tag Clothing Hospital Patient

This was a sad project to have to sew.

I have a younger cousin in elementary school who needs to get ear surgery this month.

I felt really bad that I lived too far away to offer any practical aid.

So instead I did what I do best, and I sewed doll clothes.

I made the Doll Tag Clothing Hospital Patient pattern, and I made doll sized hospital gowns.

The hospital gown pattern is very easy to make. To be honest, I am not sure why I already owned it, but I was really glad that I did.

The pattern was only two pattern pieces, front and back. It was so easy. That was good, because I was in a sleep fog and didn't have a lot of brain cells to devote to figuring out the pattern.

It is also very clever. The hospital gown overlaps in the back so that you don't have doll butt hanging out. I thought it was worth the price, even though it's an easy pattern.

I also used the Requiem Art Designs Face Masks pattern to make matching face masks.

I hope that it helps my cousin feel a little bit better about her procedure.

There are three cousins of the same age, and each one is getting a face mask and hospital gown.

I am not going to be accused of favorites, no way!

Posing in front of the Tree

St. Lucia Day is over, but Lily Rose wanted to take a picture of the St. Lucia dress in front of the Christmas tree.

Who could resist that face?

Not me!

Happy St. Lucia Day!

Today is St. Lucia Day!  Kirsten is on hiatus at my parents' house, so Lily Rose filled in for her.

Isn't Kirsten's St. Lucia outfit beautiful?

Sari wanted to join in, so I took some pictures with her too.

Happy St. Lucia Day!

BTW, here is the box that the wreath came in. Classic Pleasant Company. (I keep Felicity's tricorn hat in it as well as the wreath. They both fit perfectly!)

Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose

While I have been on eBay looking for AG dolls to give as gifts, I was not looking for dolls for myself. I most especially was not looking at blonde, blue eyed classic mold dolls.

But there was this one doll looked like a modern day Alice in Wonderland, and she just seemed to be alive with personality already. I put in a low bid, and here she is.

Molly Thrift Store Find

I found Pleasant Company's trunk for Molly! It was $20 and I found it in a pile of stuff in the garage (!) of my local thrift store. It...
